These pendants were created in collaboration with my 5 year old friend Sara. She chose some of her favourite drawings and I etched them in brass for her to wear. I look forward to collaborating with more young aspiring artists!

I usually cast pine cones and other flora, but I had this dried out seahorse and thought I would give it a try. It came out just fine.

Leather in all shapes, sizes and colours.

Ta da! Found some pieces long enough for wrap bracelets.

Getting ready to etch.

Just took them out of the acid and cleaned them up.

It's been pierced, hammered and has a patina to add contrast and give it a vintage feel. Now to get out my chain, findings and stones and play!

I have recently begun to experiment with brass etching. It's a very similar technique as to when I etch with silver, but I have felt freer to explore and try new things. As a result I have been playing with different hammered textures, applying them before and after etching the brass. the brass pieces are then finished off with sterling findings and semi-precious stones, in this case labradorite.

While tidying my bench I found some old beauties that I had forgotten about and found inspiration for today's creating.

Found these beauties at an estate sale! I'm always looking for more vintage pieces.
